In the fight for the Bundesliga rights, Sport1 has to cope with a bitter defeat. RTL snatched the top second division game from him on Saturday evening – the specialty channel’s biggest ratings hit with sometimes over a million viewers.
Sport1 was all the more trembling about a second big decision. Without the rights to the Sunday highlights of the Bundesliga, the “double pass” would also have been threatened with extinction. Now came the relief. “Package K” apparently remains in the property of the provider.
