MORELIA, Mich., January 1, 2025 – In addition to the resumption of the qualifying phases for the 2026 World Cup which will take place in Canada, Mexico and the United States, FIFA will have a broad international agenda that includes the new format of the Club World Cup, as well as youth tournaments, beach and women’s futsal.Beach Football World Cup

Over the course of eleven days of intense competition, 16 nations will fight for glory in the sands of Seychelles. So far, eight teams have secured their participation in the tournament: Belarus, Spain, Italy, Mauritania, Portugal, Senegal, Seychelles and Tahiti. The remaining eight spots will be open to qualified teams from CONMEBOL (three), AFC (three) and CONCACAF (two).

Club World Cup

This June and July, the United States will become the epicenter of world football as 32 premier clubs, representing six confederations, compete in the highly anticipated 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Twelve stadiums will host the 63 tournament matches, with the final scheduled at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The opening match will feature Al Ahly FC against Inter Miami CF at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

U-20 World Cup

The 24th edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup will take place in 2025. To date, twelve nations have won the trophy, with Uruguay being the last winner in 2023. This new edition will be held in Chile and will feature 24 teams. Eleven of the teams that will accompany the host nation have already been confirmed: New Zealand, New Caledonia, , Italy, Norway, Spain, Ukraine, Cuba, Mexico, Panama and the United States.

Morocco will host the ninth expanded edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, welcoming 23 other teams to North Africa. New Zealand, Samoa, Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (title holders), the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China have already secured their places for the event. Qualifying tournaments for CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and UEFA will take place during the first half of 2025. Morocco will organize this competition every year from 2025 to 2029.

U-17 World Cup

In December 2024, the FIFA Council confirmed that the first edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup™ with 48 teams and organized annually will be held from 5 to 27 November 2025. Qatar will host the tournament between 2025 and 2029. The German team are the defending champions, having triumphed against France in a thrilling penalty shootout during the tournament held in Indonesia in 2023.

Women’s Futsal World Cup

The Philippines, a fascinating destination in Southeast Asia, will be the venue for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup in 2025. The tournament will feature 16 teams from all six confederations and will take place against the majestic backdrop of the mountains and of the beauty of the Pacific Ocean. To date, in addition to the host nation, only New Zealand have secured their place in the event.

FIFA Arab Cup

At the request of the Qatar Football Federation, Qatar will host the Arab Cup in 2025, 2029 and 2033. The competition will follow an invitation-only participation principle and will not be included in the men’s international calendar. The current champion is Algeria, who lifted the trophy in Qatar in 2021 after beating Tunisia 2-0 in the final.

Intercontinental Cup

The FIFA Intercontinental Cup offers the champions of the six confederations the opportunity to compete on the world stage each year. The competition features an attractive format, with teams vying for titles and annual triumphs from different confederations. The fight for trophies will begin right from the start, in the first phase, where clubs will compete for the FIFA Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup. Real Madrid won the championship in 2024 after beating Pachuca in the final.
