Alexander Lukashenko In his New Year's address, he announced the completion of the generational change in the coming years.

“We know that everything that we achieved in the past 2024 will be continued in the coming 2025. Our path is continuity. The generational change will be completed in the coming years. Wisely in Belarusian style – based on everything we value and are proud of.”he said.

After that, he declared 2025 the Year of Improvement of the Country within the framework of the Five-Year Quality Plan. Lukashenko did not disclose what is meant by generational change.

Last year, he repeatedly spoke about new generations, most often in the context of the need “polish the country”, “bring it to perfect condition” for them. Alexander Lukashenko also spoke about generational change in June of this year, appointing Dmitry Krutoy head of his administration, Natalia Petkevich – his deputy, and Maxima Ryzhenkova – Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“There is a generational change. New, knowledgeable, professional people must come who, within a few years, must implement what we agreed on at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. The country must get good government, wire belts from the president to the government through the administration to the bottom. There must be results and efficiency”he said then.

In January last year, upon appointment as Minister of Health Alexandra Khodzhaeva instead of Dmitry Pinevich Lukashenko stated that personnel rotation had begun in all ministries and departments in the context of election campaigns. Then he said that there would be a change of officials “until the presidential elections”.
