The “Squid Game” series is back in force on Netflix for an explosive season 2 after three years of waiting. Good news, a season 3 is expected, but when?
After three years of waiting, the Squid Game phenomenon is back on Netflix for a second season consisting of 7 episodes. Fans of the South Korean series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk – the most watched of all time on the platform – find Seong Gi-hun aka player 456, played by Lee Jung-jae.
Three years after winning Squid Game, player 456 has given up on going to the United States and returns with a new resolution in mind. Gi-hun dives back into the mysterious survival game, starting another game of life or death with new participants gathered to win the 456 billion won prize.

The first information on season 3 of “Squid Game”
We have known for several months that Squid Game will be entitled to a third season, which will be the last! The director, screenwriter and executive producer of Squid Game shared a few words with fans, via the platform to announce the end of the series which will be available in 2025!
So you won't have to wait three years to discover the third and final season of Squid Game. And we can even hope for it soon enough according to Hwang Dong-hyuk's first indiscretions: “I think we will announce the launch date for season 3 soon. I would probably expect that to launch around summer or fall of next year”he told Variety.
He even gave the first elements of the plot of season 3, teased with a mysterious mid-credits scene at the end of the last episode:
“As for the storyline of the third season, Gi-hun having lost everything, including his best friend, and all his attempts ending in failure, it's now, what will he be like? What state will Gi- will he find himself? And what will he choose to do? Will he continue the mission?
Will he give up or persist? And so you're going to meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season. Gi-hun will no longer be the man he was in season 2..”
