On BFMTV this Tuesday, December 24, the Minister Delegate in charge of the City Juliette Méadel returned to her choice to join the government of François Bayrou, Prime Minister since December 13.
“François Bayrou is, for me, the man capable of building consensus. He is the man who, through his political orientation, Modem, provides nuance,” she declared.
“He is the one for whom things are not all black and white and with whom we can deal. This is exactly what we need at the moment,” believes the new Minister Delegate in charge of the City.
Security, a “central” issue for Juliette Méadel
Juliette Méadel also said she was “struck (…) by the violence at all levels of the debate in political life.” Earlier in the day, during her handover, Juliette Méadel considered the question of security “central”.
“It’s about working on the issues of access to public services (…) to change the lives and improve the daily lives” of the French, she added.
Spokesperson for the Socialist Party between 2014 and 2016, the new Minister responsible for the City has already held ministerial functions since she was Secretary of State responsible for victim assistance between 2016 and 2017.
The composition of François Bayrou's government was revealed this Monday by the Secretary General of the Élysée Alexis Kohler, after ten days of consultations led by the new head of government.
