As homes prepare to celebrate Christmas, we continue our holiday saga. As a reminder, for this end of the year, Gala.fr asked several stars to talk about the holiday season. A souvenir, a gift… Let's forget the time for an interview this year which was rich in emotions. The host and Miss France 2001, Élodie Gossuin, agreed to take part in the Christmas interview.
Gala.fr: This year, what does your Christmas list consist of?
Élodie Gossuin: Nothing ! My gift is being able to have Christmas, thinking about homemade dessert and having my family. Afterwards, they know that a personalized gift from my children will make me happy. I like that it's a surprise and that it's funny. I'm not asking for the latest connected headset or a large luxury handbag, that's not my crazy thing.
What is your fondest Christmas memory?
As my older children were born on December 21, we spent our first Christmas in the maternity ward. It was incredible to think that I had two babies, dressed as Christmas elves, in my arms. I had a hard time realizing that I had just become a mother. My best friend had brought a small tree for the room. My mother had come to drop off the gifts. We even had smoked salmon. It's a great memory.
And that Christmas gift you'll never forget?
For several years, my boyfriend always had the good idea to give me household appliances. Since he knew it annoyed me, he continued to do it. So I had the right to the raclette machine and the coffee maker. It's still the worst gift! Afterwards, it became crazy between us.
Have children does it help maintain the Christmas spirit?
Obviously! It's so much easier to make them dream and bring them a little magic in this world that suffocates them and makes them anxious. It's already been a month and a half since we put up the decorations in the garden. So I put three garlands and an inflatable reindeer. They are so exhausted with the gray weather and school that they were super happy! It's fabulous. Thanks to them, we can't see ourselves not putting up a tree or a garland.
Besides, what did they ask for at Christmas?
When they were little, they took toy catalogs and made ten pages of gifts to send to the North Pole! When we told them that it was too much and that they had to think about the other children, they only chose one and wanted us to go and get the others from the store. The smart guys! As they grow up, they are much more reasonable. They will think of an outfit that could be useful or a video game. They think of others above all. They would like to make a package for Restos du Cœur or a gift for cousins. They are not self-centered. I'm super proud to be their mom.
Until how old did you believe in Santa Claus?
Late ! I still believe in it because I truly believe in the power of the magic of Christmas. It brings magic.
If you had to spend Christmas with 3 people, who would you choose?
Geneviève de Fontenay. I have the chance to work with great people like Jérôme Anthony and Agustin Galiana. I would love to spend Christmas with them. And if I get a little bonus, I’ll say Céline Dion! I'm a fan and so is my daughter! Every day, we sing like crazy to his songs!
Can you still listen All I want for Christmas is you de Mariah Carey ?
I've been putting on the Christmas playlist at home for a month. I will never get tired of this song! She does me good morally.
The end of the year is also time for taking stock. What do you remember from your year 2024?
Lots of family happiness with trips, madness, dancing, hugs and madness. That's the main thing. Afterwards, professionally, I had a blast. I feel very good in the M6 group which trusts me. It really works on merit. I am very grateful for all the shows I have been able to present. I went to the provinces to film and I met some very nice people.
After Christmas, it's the start of the new year. How do you see 2025?
I don't apprehend it. I wish everything continued like this! I hope to continue to have fun professionally. And above all, I want to see my children happy. My oldest are going to take their baccalaureate so I'm worried about whether or not they're going to leave the house and what they're going to do. I just don't want it to be all six of us.
