Federal police inspectors received gifts from French influencers IbraTV and Hachemi, whose presence in Brussels on Monday evening caused unrest. The federal police confirmed the information relayed on Tuesday by VRT Nieuws. “It is absolutely forbidden for police officers to accept gifts,” she explains.
In a video which appears to have been produced in a Brussels establishment of the restaurant chain created by IbraTV, we can see two inspectors from the federal railway police meeting one of the influencers. They then receive a smartphone and a camera. “We treat everyone!! Even the police“, we can read in the caption of the video. However, we do not know when the video was made.
On Monday, the visit of the two influencers to Brussels led to excesses. The two men had announced on social networks that they were going to distribute 200,000 euros in gifts and around a thousand people showed up at the Atomium around 6:30 p.m. While waiting for the two influencers, some participants set off fireworks horizontally and vertically. Fireworks were even set off in the direction of police officers.
When the influencers arrived by bus around 7 p.m., the vehicle was immediately surrounded by crowds. The atmosphere became tense with requests for gifts to be distributed and threats of vandalism, according to police. She tried to let the bus leave safely but the crowd then followed the vehicle towards Houba-de Strooper Avenue. In order to control the situation, the police decided to deploy water cannons. Calm returned around 8 p.m.
