After around forty interventions during the night from Sunday to Monday in the Toulon area, due to damage caused by violent winds, the Var firefighters announced that no casualties were reported.
Gusts at 40km/h

Falling trees, roof tiles and cladding flying away… Material damage was light around Toulon.
In Pradet, poles and trees that fell on the roads were quickly cleared by the technical services of the town hall, which did not observe “no other damage, material or human”. Some Christmas decorations were, for example, moved or carried away by gusts, like these two polar bears installed on the RD 559 roundabout, towards Carqueiranne.
In Valletta, during the night from Sunday to Monday, a tree fell on the Place de la Grande Cabane in the north of the town, as well as a telecommunications pylon.
And during the night from Monday to Tuesday, a large pine tree fell on a power line… on the aptly named pine alley.
“Enedis intervened, the electricity was cut for four hours but the situation has since been restored. And the tree has been debited”details Thierry Albertini, the mayor of Valletta.
