During the KSW 101 mixed martial arts gala in Paris, Marcin Held from Tychy did not give his opponent the slightest chance and won the fight ahead of time in the first round. The Frenchman conceded the fight after the Pole's impressive guillotine. It was the jubilee, fortieth professional fight in Held's career and his thirtieth victory.
Marcin Held, normally associated with Bastion Tychy, is one of the best fighters in the history of Polish MMA. In the past, he fought for the world's largest federations, such as UFC, Bellator and PFL. A year ago, he signed a contract with the Polish KSW federation, for which he fought his third fight. In his debut, he lost in Gliwice by technical knockout, later in Olsztyn he won by unanimous decision of the judges. In Paris he put on a real show and defeated Davy Gallon in 2 minutes and 24 seconds.
At the beginning of the fight, the Tychy resident quickly shortened the distance and took his rival to the ground after only 30 seconds. There he controlled the situation and gained further seconds of advantage. After a little over two minutes, while mounted, he managed to fasten the “guillotine”. The choke turned out to be effective, a moment later the Frenchman “tapped out” and the referee stopped the fight.
– I overthrew my opponent and step by step I tried to do what I have been doing best lately, which is, apart from leg locks, these “guillotines”. Those who trained with me know that, said the Pole with a smile after the fight. Did he expect such an easy crossing? – It's hard to say. I certainly didn't expect that I would be able to take my opponent to the ground so easily. Then, second by second, I controlled the fight more and more and I knew that something good could come out of it – he added.
What plans does the Tychy warrior have for the future? – In 2025, I will probably fight two, maybe three fights and one will definitely be for the belt! – he announced. Held's victory was watched by 17,000 spectators from the stands of the Paris arena. In the main event, Salahdine Parnasse defended his KSW lightweight championship belt against Wilson Varela. It is possible that he will be one of the Pole's next rivals.
