Guest on Europe 1, Friday December 20, the rebellious MP returned to the words of the Prime Minister, who must announce the composition of his government “before Christmas”.
A limited lifespan for François Bayrou’s future team? The Prime Minister promised, Thursday, December 19, to present his government “before Christmas”. Invited on Europe 1 this Friday, the rebellious MP Éric Coquerel reacted. “I don’t know if he’ll be named before Christmas, but he won’t make it through the winter”, assured the president of the finance committee of the National Assembly.
A week after his arrival as Prime Minister, François Bayrou continues to work on the composition of his future team. Thursday, during a large meeting in Matignon with several political forces, the mayor of Pau proposed to the parties, excluding RN and LFI, to join his government. He also submitted the idea of reopening a discussion on pension reform.
Coquerel had said that the Barnier government would not survive the winter
During this interview on Europe 1, Éric Coquerel launched an appeal to Emmanuel Macron. The rebellious elected official believes that the head of state must “stop appointing minority governments to implement minority policy”. The left-wing MP recalls the defeats of the Macronist camp in the European and legislative elections as well as the adoption of the motion of censure against the Barnier government.
And after, “what is he doing? He renames a government made to implement his policies. This can’t all work”, pointed out Éric Coquerel. The latter insisted on recalling that he had predicted the fall of Michel Barnier. “From the end of August, I said that the government would not survive the winter”, confided the chairman of the finance committee of the National Assembly.
