The Norwegian Johannes Boe was narrowly beaten by his young compatriot Martin Uldal at the end of the sprint in Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) on Thursday, the first race of the French stage of the Biathlon World Cup, of which three French people were classified in the top 10.

With a 9 out of 10 in shooting, Boe completed the 10 km sprint in the pouring rain just 1 sec 4/10th behind Uldal, the author of a flawless shot behind the rifle. The Swede Sebastian Samuelsson completes the podium, at 10 sec 8/10, with a missed target.
