POLITICS – It’s the story of a communist who sits in the same government as a Macronist. What could be the start of a joke was seriously proposed by François Bayrou, during the meeting devoted to the political crisis organized this Thursday, December 19 in Matignon. According to information from L’Opinion confirmed by AFP, the Prime Minister proposed to the party leaders present around the table to enter the government.
Which, theoretically, concerns Fabien Roussel (PCF), Édouard Philippe (Horizons), Olivier Faure (PS), Gabriel Attal (Renaissance), Marine Tondelier (Les Écologists), Guillaume Lacroix (Radical Left Party), Nathalie Delattre (Parti radical), Bertrand Pancher (Utiles party) but also Les Républicains, represented by a collegial leadership since the incredible departure of Éric Ciotti. A delegation which includes François-Xavier Bellamy, Daniel Fasquelle, Annie Genevard and Michèle Tabarot (Laurent Wauquiez being only president of the LR group in the Assembly).
Pension reform discussed, but…
This proposal is accompanied by another offer made by the tenant of Matignon: the reopening of discussions around pension reform, without however suspending or freezing it as demanded by the left.
We might as well say it straight away: this proposal has very little chance of succeeding, as it seems difficult to imagine Marine Tondelier agreeing to sit with a political group, Les Républicains, which calls for the abolition of the AME and slowly but surely sliding towards national preference (two measures advocated for a long time by the RN). Furthermore, as pointed out L’OpinionOlivier Faure has already declined. Unless it is a matter of the Prime Minister sorting out those who are ready to join him, and those who are not. In which case it should be quickly fixed.
