Final result: Atalanta-Cesena 6-1
Pisseri 5 – Returning to the starting line-up after two months spent on the bench in Serie B, he conceded four goals in the first half and two in the second: he has no particular responsibilities, but it remains a poor evening to say the least.
Ciofi 4 – The Juventus rearguard is leaking from all sides: Too many individual and collective blunders make the task easier for Gasperini’s Atalanta. From 74′ Short 6 – He finds the pitch again at the end, after the ninety minutes played against Cosenza. He gives freshness to Cesena’s battered back department.
Piacentini 4 – It gets blown up too easily. He never finds a way to contain the incursions of the Nerazzurri players.
Pieraccini 4,5 – He involuntarily had a hand in Atalanta’s 3-0, finding a deflection on Samardzic’s shot aimed at goal. In a match where there is nothing to save anyway, he appears slightly more attentive and precise than his teammates.
Adamo 4 – One of the worst on the pitch. The play of Zappacosta and De Ketelaere suffers tremendously: the first half turns into a real nightmare for the number 17, the music does not change in the second half… From 83′ Hraiech sv
Sticks 5 – In trouble in the central area of the pitch, he would have some opportunities to try to have an impact on set pieces (in the first 45′) but he isn’t ready. From 60′ Chiarello 6 – Coming on after the game was largely over, he has no way of making the Romagna team’s trip to Bergamo any less bitter.
Mendicino 5 – Not reaching midfield, an area in which Atalanta are too superior to the Juventus second lines from the start of the match.
Celia 5 – You never see it on the left: Palestra does the bare minimum to impose himself, but much more was expected from Cesena’s left back.
Recommended 5 – Who saw it? Contained perfectly by Atalanta’s defence, he ended up touching just a handful of balls in an hour. From 60′ Francesconi 6 – When time is up he starts the counterattack again through the central streets, then arriving to offer Ceesay the assist for the flag goal.
Kargbo 5.5 – In fact the only one to try, even if he doesn’t reach enough due to the carelessness committed on the occasion of Brescianini’s fifth goal: the gap with the three central defenders of Atalanta is important, but the former Reggiana player gives it his all. From 74′ Jesse 6 – He enters with the right attitude, in the wake of what he did in the championship against Cosenza, and this is enough for him to gain great satisfaction: scoring a goal at the “Gewiss Stadium” against Atalanta, one of the strongest teams in Italy.
Van Hooijdonk 5 – The balls he touched in the ninety minutes can be counted on the fingers of one hand: thanks to the excellent work of Gasperini’s defence.
Michele Mignani 4.5 – Eleven changes compared to the match won on Saturday against Cosenza: the Juventus second lines are unable to worry Atalanta in the slightest, ahead 4-0 at half-time and capable of winning 6-1 in the 90th minute. It is such a heavy defeat that it could also affect the continuation of the Serie B championship.
