Five deputies from La France Insoumise strongly questioned Valérie Pécresse in a letter after the suicide of a bus driver in Val-d’Oise. They denounce her ignorance since the start of the drivers’ strike due to the opening to competition and ask to speak with her.
“Mr. Ludovic L., bus driver for the FSO company, killed himself last Saturday, December 14 after 38 days of strike. He leaves five orphaned children and devastated colleagues. We ask you to help us receive”, say five deputies from La France Insoumise du Val-d’Oise, in a letter addressed to the president of Ile-de-France Mobilités, Valérie Pécresse.
Since November 7, drivers have been mobilized to denounce the opening to competition of Ile-de-France transport. “It destroys the quality of service for users and the working conditions of employees,” according to elected officials.
“Politics of the worst”
The LFI deputies of Val-d’Oise denounce the contempt of Valérie Pécresse. “In response, the strikers were met with police repression and silence. You have in fact chosen to ignore all the alerts. Theirs as well as those of Mr. MP Aurélien Taché who sent you the first one on the 7th. last October.”
“A second letter, dated November 29, also remained unanswered from you. From the policy of the worst. That of rot. Which led to the tragedy,” they add.
Paul Vannier, deputy for the 5th constituency of Val-d’Oise, relayed this letter on X. “We solemnly appeal to Valérie Pécresse”, he wrote.
“We ask you to receive us in order to discuss the emergency, to prevent further violence against the strikers and to finally break the deadlock of opening up to competition,” the letter concludes.
