WTC (World Test Championship) Points Table, India vs Australia 3rd Test: The third Test of the ongoing five-match series between India and Australia, which was played at The Gabba in Brisbane, ended in a draw on Wednesday, December 18. Except Day 2, the remaining four days of the match was affected by rain. Aussies posted a total of 445 runs in the first inning and then dismissed India for 260 runs in 78.5 overs, but the visitors successfully managed to avoid the follow-on.
For India, Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah added 47 runs from 78 balls for the 10th wicket after Rohit Sharma’s side lost the ninth batter at the score of 213 runs.
Due to the draw, both India and Australia have to settle with 4 World Test Championship (WTC) points each.
India, which kicked off the match with 57.29 PCT%, has managed to retain its No. 3 position in the WTC 2023-25 points table, but its PCT% has dropped to 55.88. On the other hand, Australia’s PCT% has also dropped from 60.71 to 58.89.

The South African team, which whitewashed Sri Lanka in the two-match Test series played at home earlier this month, sits at the No. 1 position in the WTC points table. The Proteas have 63.33 PCT%. South Africa will confirm its place in the WTC 2025 final, which is set to take place at Lord’s from June 11 to 15, if they win the upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan with a scoreline of 2-0 or 1-0.
Tom Latham-led New Zealand team, after hammering England by 423 runs in the third and final Test played at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Tuesday, December 17, ended the WTC 2023-25 cycle with a 48.21 PCT%. The Black Caps occupy the No. 4 position in the points table as of now and will remain there if the Aussies manage to get the better of Sri Lanka in the two-match Test series, which is set to take place in January next year.
