The third day of the third BGT 2024-25 test at the Gabba was marred significantly by rain.
Australia find themselves in the driver’s seat in the ongoing third test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test in Brisbane.
Resuming their innings at 405/7, the hosts added 40 more runs to their overnight total, thanks to a brilliant half-century from wicket-keeper batter Alex Carey.
Walking in at 326/5, Alex Carey scored 70-run knock off 88 balls, ensuring Australia maintained their batting momentum. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian bowling attack has appeared clueless throughout the test. Rohit Sharma’s captaincy has also come under fire, with critics deeming it overly defensive.
If India’s bowling was lacklustre, their batting has been even more dismal. The visitors got off to a poor start, losing opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on the second ball of the innings, followed by Shubman Gill.
Star batter Virat Kohli has been another cause for concern for India. Despite playing 120 test matches, the experienced batter continues to fall for outside the off-stump deliveries.
India now find themselves under all sorts of trouble at 48/4, with Rishabh Pant being the latest wicket. With the victory almost out of the equation let’s take a look at how the weather can support India in drawing the game.
Brisbane weather forecast for day 4 of the third test
