Kalidou Koulibaly finds a place in the African eleven of the year

This Monday evening, in Marrakech, the annual CAF Awards ceremony rewarded the eleven best African players of the year 2024. Kalidou Koulibaly is the only Senegalese who appears there.

André Onana, Mouhamed Salah and even Ademola Lookman, new best African footballer of the year… It’s an eleven that looks great that CAF unveiled this Monday evening, in Marrakech, during its annual ceremony. The only two nations that have more than one representative are Morocco, with Achraf Hakimi and Sofyan Amrabt, and Nigeria with, therefore, Lookman and Victor Osimhen.

Like almost every year, a Senegalese footballer manages to carve out a place in this great selection. For 2024, it is the defender and captain of the Lions Kalidou Koulibaly who was acclaimed by the experts. He is in defense, in particular, with the Congolese Chancel Mbemba. The Ivorian and Malian environments Franck Kessié, Yves Bissouma and Ghanaian winger Mumhamed Kudus are also there.
