There was a roar when Dusan Vlahovic scored the penalty to make it 2-2 in the 95th minute. But first there were whistles and the most classic chants of dissatisfaction from the fans at the Allianz Stadium (“Get the ic out…”) who had basically supported Juve for over an hour. And when the referee’s final whistle signaled the tenth draw of this championship (the top five in the standings have collected a total of twelve), something that could resemble a dispute continued, the emotions experienced just Wednesday night already seemed very distant of the Champions League with Manchester City.
The protest
The disappointment with Juventus’ sobbing progress in the championship turned into a direct back and forth between the Juventus South Curva and Vlahovic himself. So much so that the Serbian center forward would have said something not too welcome in response to the whistles and protests of his fans, even blatantly, with his nerves on edge already highlighted by the yellow card he received after the goal scored for an over the top reaction and a few words too many. Only to then find himself forced to leave even before the rest of the group, receiving insults from the same fans who had always supported him even when he found himself at the center of market dynamics: he approached his teammates saying something they didn’t like, he left while the insults from the team could be heard, an episode which ended with Vlahovic giving a thumbs up as if to compliment ironically. If it’s not a sign of a rift between him and the fans, at least those at the Stadium, it looks a lot like him.
“No excuses”
Therefore disappointment can only be the common feeling in the Juventus dressing room at the end, Atalanta and Napoli have extended by another two points and even the Champions League zone risks moving further away. And the frustration of the fans highlights the negative moment: «We all want to change the situation, the players first. The fans have all the freedom to express their disappointment, their thoughts. But it’s time to stay together, united we can change this situation.” the words of Thiago Motta at the end. Who from the stands watched a disappointing match for everyone: «We didn’t have a great performancewe definitely need to do better. Every match has its own story, the one against Venezia had nothing to do with the Champions League match”, the coach’s words. Who once again does not look for excuses: “There are no justifications for this moment.”
