Independiente and Boca did not take advantage of each other in a match that, however, was a lie from the result because there were several goal situations in each goal. El Rojo had the clearest shot at the beginning of the second half and almost at the end, but as throughout the entire championship, they were unable to finish well.
The year ended for Independiente with a match that had in its charm the adrenaline of a classic and always wanting to win it. The fate of the team, already qualified for the Sudamericana, was cast, so it was played without the pressure of going for a result that would force it to do more.
Perhaps for this reason, a more relaxed team was seen, with greater offensive ambition and even though it failed a lot (as throughout 2024) in the definition, achieving some goal situations (and suffering others) that left the team at 0 to 0 as a lying result.
At the end there were good performances by Santiago Hidalgo and Felipe Loyola, the axes of the team, along with Lautaro Millán and a good afternoon by Iván Marcone, in what could have been his last game with this shirt. Gabriel Ávalos left, practically without participation tonight, and also some weak points in the brand, especially on the side of Spörle and Laso.
In the first half, Rojo (inexplicably dressed in white) fought with Loyola and Lomónaco, always tight, and on Millán's head, although he never managed to hit him squarely with his head. Catching her openly was a goal.
The clearest chances were when Marcos Rojo, at the beginning of the second, saved a ball on the line that was sliding towards Brey's goal, a weak task but which Independiente did not take advantage of.
In the middle, he suffered a shot on the post and had a very clear chance in the attack of Maestro Puch, who had entered for Ávalos, but when the goalkeeper came out he tried to make a very bad save.
This is how the last one of the year went, with the expectation of retaining some players who were valuable, purging others and creating a good transfer market that allows us to get excited about winning a title in 2025.
