Roman Reigns will be in action on WWE TV for the first time in over 2 years at a major upcoming show.
Following his surprise return and shock heel turn at the end of SummerSlam 2020, Reigns mainly competed on Premium Live Events. Often sitting out the smaller Premium Live Events and taking extended absences despite being the champion, Reigns’s lack of matches was often criticised by fans. To date, Reigns has only competed in 17 matches on Raw or SmackDown since his 2020 return. However, according to a new report, The OTC could be in action as part of an important show.
As reported by Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda, Reigns is scheduled to be in action on the Raw on Netflix debut on January 6th:
Roman Reigns is currently scheduled to compete at the #WWERaw debut episode on Netflix, I have been informed.
Reigns last competed on TV on SmackDown in late 2022. Reigns teamed with Sami Zayn in a losing effort to John Cena and Kevin Owens. The match was Cena’s only televised match that year, keeping his streak of competing in at least one televised match since his main roster debut in 2002.
Reigns last competed at Survivor Series, scoring the winning win in the Men’s WarGames match that saw The OG Bloodline take on The New Bloodline.
Roman Reigns Discusses Life After Wrestling
With a 1,316-day reign as World Champion, 9 WrestleMania main events and countless accolades to his name, few would blame Reigns for taking a step back from wrestling to focus on other projects or family life. Having acted in a handful of movies, Roman Reigns recently spoke about transitioning to a full-time Hollywood career.
In addition to the Reigns match, a huge bout has been scheduled to main event the first WWE Raw on Netflix.
