The match between OL and Frankfurt will be particularly monitored by the police, given that German fans have been arriving in large numbers since Wednesday evening.
During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, several incidents took place with the first Frankfurt supporters to arrive on site on the eve of the match in Lyon. Known for being as numerous as they are noisy but above all in search of muscular encounters, the German fans made themselves noticed from the outset in several places in the Rhone city. This was the case at Place des Terreaux but also in the Cours Vitton sector according to Le Progrès. The police quickly intervened to disperse the Frankfurt supporters with tear gas.
The police are specially responsible for monitoring sympathizers of the German club, who were only a few hundred in Lyon last night, but will be many more numerous during the day on Thursday. During their last visit to France, Frankfurt supporters were closely monitored in Marseille in 2022, which gave rise to isolated incidents and above all a city completely sealed off on the sidelines of this European match.
