Panic in the heart of , Wednesday December 11. The Arc de Triomphe was evacuated in the morning after a man threatened to blow up the monument. According to The Parisianthe individual contacted the police around 11 a.m., specifying that he was equipped with an explosive belt and wanted to carry out attacks in Paris with four accomplices. He notably mentioned the Bataclan attack, and claimed to have planted bombs on the Place de l'Etoile and at the top of the Champs-Élysées, adds actu.fr.

The area was searched for a possible explosive, without success. According to daily information, a substantial security perimeter was immediately set up around the Arc and at the entrance to the underground passage leading to it, mobilizing police and soldiers from Operation Sentinel. The top of the Champs-Élysées was part of the cordoned off perimeter. A dog team was also dispatched to the scene, but found nothing.

The Arc reopened to the public an hour later
