This Monday on the show As an aside broadcast on Canal+, Alice Belaïdi revealed that she almost did not get the role of Alyson Levêque in Hippocrates : “Thomas Lilti, the director, didn't want to see me in casting. He felt that I was too much of a comedian, and yet I arrived with my Molière, I still arrived with a little author background. But what he had in his head was: 'nah Alice, she does comedy, she does WorkingGirls'”, she confides. She explains that it was Julie Navarro, the casting director, who insisted on Thomas Lilti. The latter, convinced of the potential of 'Alice, encouraged him to give her a chance: “She told him: 'well you've been all over , you can't find your character, see this girl anyway.'” Alice Belaïdi, touched by the writing of the character and the scenario, did not give up. “When I read the script, I found it crazy. I really want to do it, and then I really want to prove to him that no, I'm not just a comedy girl. I'm an actress, actually !”, she tells Nathalie Lévy.

This role in Hippocrates allowed Alice Belaïdi to demonstrate the full extent of her talent and to go beyond the image of an actress only intended for light roles which stuck to her. “What it brought me was that it reopened this little door for certain directors who didn't necessarily want to see me or hear about me, because they had an image of me that was too comedic.she assures. Thanks to this opportunity, Alice Belaïdi was able to play new roles in more different genres. She also had the opportunity to play in the thriller Black Butterflies directed by Olivier Abbou in 2022.
