Crime scene today from Bremen: Christmas Agatha Christie crime thriller

Christmas Eve in a chic country house: good food, wine, karaoke. The next day, the landlord is dead. The “crime scene” detectives from Bremen know: the murderer is among the guests.

Christmas with the Wilkens shipping family: Captain Hendrik Wilkens (Matthias Freihof) celebrates at his country house with his husband, children and grandchildren, and a Filipino sailor (Jernih Agapito) from the seafarers’ mission is also invited over the holidays. Christmas Eve is a happy and cheerful one, but the next day Hendrik Wilkens lies dead in his study with a gunshot wound. For the Bremen investigators Liv Moormann (Jasna Fritzi Bauer) and Linda Selb (Luisa Wolfram) it quickly becomes clear that a robbery-murder can be ruled out. The murderer must still be in the house – but who had a motive to disturb the harmonious Christmas peace?

This “crime scene” is more Christmas film than crime thriller: the captain’s family’s tree and banquet table are so lavishly decorated that even Martha Stewart would take notes. The brightly flashing Christmas tree in the police station of the Christmas grouches Moormann and Selb is a nice contrast. At one point the Christ child even shows the way when there is a chase through the Christmas market. In short: the holiday atmosphere runs consistently through the “crime scene”. The occasional visualizations of the possible course of events also contribute to the special atmosphere, so that we can watch the detectives puzzling.

If you’re already listening to “Last Christmas” by “Wham!” If you can no longer hear it, it’s better not to turn it on: the catchy tune is playing on a continuous loop.

They are both workhorses and not Christmas fans. Everyone deals with the holiday service in their own way: While Selb spontaneously experiences the “best Christmas ever” and happily flirts with an attractive sailor at the seaman’s mission’s Christmas party, Moormann allows himself to be persuaded to have a feast with the suspects Later, frustrated, he munches his way alone through a Christmas stollen. All of this distracts her from her own complicated family history, which she reveals a little about in this “crime scene”: her sister is in prison, but she backs away from a Christmas visit there at the last second. That’s why she finds it difficult to tolerate even being in a good mood.

Light fare on Sunday evening: The “Tatort” from Bremen creates a Christmas atmosphere and offers a classic whodunit with few surprises and beautiful pictures.
