Shortly before the overthrow of the Barnier government, Wednesday December 4, Marine Le Pen had threatened several times to table a motion of censure. Words which were not taken seriously according to her, because of a form of misogyny.
During the examination of the 2025 budget, the president of the National Rally group in the National Assembly, Marine Le Pen, had repeatedly threatened the government to table a motion of censure. Attacks which, as she revealed on the CNews set Thursday December 5, were not “taken seriously”explaining that she had been a victim of misogyny. “I believe that in 25 years of political career, I have never actually felt misogyny. And the first time I felt it was precisely during this sequence. That is to say a little the 'weak woman won't stand the pressure' side”she regretted.
Over the past few days, Marine Le Pen has been the target of numerous criticisms, including those from lawyer Alain Jakubowicz who described her on the CNews set as “an upset woman”. “I have demonstrated in my political career that I am relatively unlikely to give in to pressure and more robust than many other politicians of all sexes.”recalled the MP for the 11th constituency of Pas-de-Calais.
“There is nothing left unsaid”
Ultimately, it was not the National Rally (RN) which tabled the motion of censure, but the New Popular Front. While the Barnier government was overthrown, thanks to the RN vote, Marine Le Pen is delighted not to have “Never” made of “sneak shots”. “I don't maneuver, there is nothing left unsaid […] I announced all week before the vote 'be careful, the risk exists, Mr. Barnier is taking the path of censorship, he must take this seriously', and until the last moment they did not take this seriously”she concluded.
