Wednesday, December 4 in the morning, the Jura gendarmes were dispatched to Lake Vouglans, an artificial lake 35 km long which attracts fishermen and water sports enthusiasts.
Two men, aged 62 and 78, drowned. The first elements of the investigation indicate that they had gone fishing. The alert was given around 8:30 a.m. by another fisherman, who discovered a body floating on the surface of the water. Two police patrols arrive on the scene, as do the firefighters. While the soldiers set about searching for the body, they discovered a second victim.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the gendarmes favor the accidental trail. For the moment, the criminal hypothesis is not considered. Did one of the fishermen fall and the second wanted to fish him out? The investigation, carried out by the Lons-le-Saunier gendarmerie brigade, should shed light on the circumstances of the accident.
