FIGAROVOX/TRIBUNE – Government censorship would have very serious consequences on the daily lives of the French, on our sovereignty and on our economy, warns the President of the Senate. He calls on the deputies to take a “start”.
Here are the deputies of the Nation facing their responsibilities.
Will they, through their vote, jeopardize the daily life of our fellow citizens, our sovereignty, our economy and the essential reforms, for strictly partisan interests, electoral base or presidential calendars?
Will they deprive our country of the budgets necessary to ensure our social protection, to finance our security, our defense, our education, to support our local authorities, to stem the housing crisis and to provide farmers with the long-awaited support measures?
Will they hinder the reconstruction promised to our New Caledonian compatriots, an essential prerequisite for the return of dialogue in New Caledonia?
Will they expose our country to the storm of the financial markets and the mistrust of investors?
Will they, finally, get in the way of the essential national recovery and the return of the credibility of France, one of the pillars of the European Union?
I call on everyone to surpass themselves for France and to refuse the consequences of political instability and the inconsistencies of a vote of censure.
Gérard Larcher
Michel Barnier has shown courage, by staying the course, he has worked in recent weeks, with determination and responsibility, to restore public accounts and return to a credible financial trajectory for the sake of dialogue with Parliament.
He was able to count on the support of the Senate throughout the budget review. In our diversity, we have had as our horizon the best interests of France and the French, by debating and voting on the budgets that the country needs.
I call on everyone to surpass themselves for France and to refuse the consequences of political instability and the inconsistencies of a vote of censure.
We all know the genesis of this crisis but today, I call for a start, to overcome political calculations, one-upmanship, resentment and desire for revenge.
I call for a start to show that we are up to the responsibilities that the French have entrusted to us.
I call for a start because it is France that is at stake.
What if we finally showed true republican sense?
