“This son of a harlot will finally disappear”: elected environmentalist Ismaël Boudjekada insults Bruno Retailleau on X

Upon the announcement of the censorship of the Barnier government, the municipal councilor of Grand-Charmont () crossed a new red line by violently attacking the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau. On his account, he wrote: “This son of a whore will finally disappear from the government. Alhamdoulillah! »an expression in Arabic meaning “ God be praised ».

This public insult, immediately condemned by many political figures and Internet users, is added to a long list of controversial comments made by the elected official. His release, which mixes vulgarity and provocation, once again illustrates his taste for shocking statements on social networks.

Ismaël Boudjekada: an elected official with a career marked by controversies

Aged 29, Ismaël Boudjekada, elected in 2020 on a environmentalist and left-wing list, is used to verbal provocations. Last June, he was sentenced to a fine of 20,000 euros and three years of ineligibility for advocating terrorism, after having described Hamas as “ Palestinian resistance movement » the day after the deadly attacks of October 7, 2023 in Israel. This conviction, suspended due to his appeal, did not prevent him from continuing his excesses.

Recently, he also caused outrage by calling Hamas leader Yahya Sinouar “a hero », or by making anti-Semitic remarks following attacks against Jewish supporters in Amsterdam.

An insult which rekindles the debate on his elected status

The insult uttered against Bruno Retailleau raises questions about the place occupied by Ismaël Boudjekada in public life. Despite his convictions and the numerous controversies, he remains a municipal councilorprotected by the presumption of innocence linked to his legal appeal. However, his repeated provocations once again highlight the limits of tolerance in the face of the excesses of elected officials having access to a public forum.
