Playing against Pakistan at Bulawayo, Zimbabwe had the worst 10-wicket collapse in the men’s T20Is between Full Member nations.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 57 in 12.4 overs in the second T20I of the three-match series against Pakistan.

Brian Bennett (21 in 14 balls) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (16 in 14) got Zimbabwe off to a reasonable start, adding 37 in 4.3 overs. However, once Abbas Afridi (2-2) claimed Marumani, the rest of the team simply caved in against left-arm wrist spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, whose 2.4-0-3-5 are now the best figures for Pakistan in men’s T20Is.

It took Zimbabwe 40 minutes to lose their 10 wickets. Barring the openers, Clive Madande (9) was the only other Zimbabwe batter to score more than three runs as they imploded to their lowest ever total in the format. Their previous lowest of 82 had come against Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium earlier this year.

Zimbabwe lost their 10 wickets for 20 runs, making it the worst 10-wicket collapse in Full Member men’s T20Is.

– At 8.2 overs, Zimbabwe’s 10-wicket collapse was also the quickest among Full Member nations. Bangladesh had lost their 10 wickets in 8.4 overs in the entry mentioned above.

– The worst 10-wicket collapse in all men’s T20Is is for three runs. After being 4-0 against Nigeria, Ivory Coast were bowled out for 7 – the lowest total in the format.

– For Full Member women’s T20Is, the corresponding entry is 26, by Bangladesh against New Zealand at Christchurch in 2022-23: they went from 6-0 to 32 all out. Maldives hold the record (2) in all women’s T20Is: from 6-0, they were bowled out for 8 by Nepal at Pokhara n 2019-20.
