Motion of censure: the Barnier government is hanging by a thread
“We risk big, we risk chaos.” Less than 24 hours after the Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, was forced, Monday, December 2, to take responsibility for the Social Security budget, the censorship of Michel Barnier's government appears inevitable, since the NFP and the RN have announced that they will vote on the motion in unison. In office for a few more days, Bruno Retailleau said, Tuesday December 3, “be all in one’s own business” as long as the executive remains in place.
“I observe that the behavior of Marine Le Pen is totally irresponsible. Irresponsible because she will mix her voices and those of her deputies with the voices of the extreme left. She is doing it at a particular moment, since there is a few days the Insoumis, tabled a text of law to remove the offense for advocating terrorism . (…) Is this serious?”plagues the Minister of the Interior, guest of “Bonjour! La Matinale de TF1”. “We are in a critical moment for France. We are risking big, we are risking chaos, we are risking a financial crisis. (…) Meanwhile, we have part of the political class playing roulette Russian with the destiny of the French and of France.”
Let's wake up and prevent what seems inevitable today: chaos
Bruno Retailleau, Minister of the Interior
Does he consider the fall of the government inevitable today? “This evening, you will receive the Prime Minister (guest on the 8 p.m. news on TF1 and France 2 editor’s note). It's up to him to express himself, but I think reason can always return. I really believe that if Marine Le Pen carries out her decision, it is outside of any rational field. I think reason can prevail.”says the boss of Beauvau, calling the leader of the RN deputies “responsibility”. “I just tell him that we risk chaos”he insists.

“In this kind of miasma, of political gloom, there are moments when gravity requires men and women politicians, whatever their partisan ties, to rise up and rise to the challenges of the country. We are there today”thunders the Minister of the Interior. “Do we really want chaos? Do we want an economic crisis that will affect the most vulnerable or do we want to restore the country? (…) Let's wake up and prevent this which today seems inevitable: chaos.”
