Yet another settling of scores against a backdrop of drug trafficking in Grenoble. Two young men were seriously injured by bullets in the legs during a shooting near a deal point on Monday evening in Grenoble, the prosecution said on Tuesday. The two injured people, aged 18 and 19, according to the newspaper Dauphiné Libéré, were hit in the legs by several projectiles.
They were transported in absolute emergency by the firefighters to the Grenoble hospital center. The shooting took place near a drug sales outlet, in this area known for its drug trafficking and where shooting attacks are not rare. Around twenty shots were fired in a burst near the deal point, according to witnesses interviewed by the local newspaper.
The Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS) was tasked with the investigation. Patrols launched a search for the perpetrator or perpetrators of the shooting on the run. At the end of October, the prosecution had counted around fifty gunshots linked to drug trafficking since the start of 2024, which left six dead, in the Grenoble metropolis, where a “gang war” is being played out, according to the authorities.
