This weekend, it was time for the first tests before the Festival of Lights which begins this Thursday, December 5 in .

The Festival of Lights begins this Thursday, December 5 in Lyon. For this 25th edition, the approximately two million visitors expected will be able to rediscover works that marked previous broadcasts.

Jérôme Donna, lighting artist for the work “Laniekea”, will once again offer his work on Place Antonin-Poncet. Tests took place this weekend. At the microphone of BFM Lyon, he presents his installation.

“It's a work that evokes the stars, the solar system, the universe. We take an interstellar journey through all the galaxies that surround us to show the beauty of something that is very far from us, but which is very interesting graphically in terms of light,” he says.

1,000 luminous spheres

This installation is made up of 1,000 luminous spheres representing 1,000 stars. “They really shed light in front of us. We have a mapping which accompanies, which plays and which responds with the stars. There is a soundtrack which is created especially for the work by the composer Vincent Jacques who is there in the “team”, adds Jérôme Donna.

From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday, then from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, 32 works will be to discover. Of this total of 32 works, six have already been acclaimed by the Lyonnais in the past. They certainly remember Jacques Rival's snow globe, which encompassed the statue of Louis XIV in 2006 and 2007.
