“There is a part of my cancer that responds, and another that does not respond, or even progresses. The part that progresses is larger than the part that reduces. In the interview broadcast on TF1, she explained that she will have to be regularly hospitalized to receive this new treatment to combat her adrenocortical tumor.
“It is a super rare cancer that affects 1 to 2 people in a million per year worldwide”specifies the actress. It most often develops in adults between 40 and 50 years old as well as in children under 15 years old. Furthermore, its incidence is higher in women, without knowing the reason.

However, last April, the results were encouraging enough to say the word remission. Unfortunately, this cancer, which develops in the adrenal gland, is known to be very aggressive. “I felt, this summer, that things weren’t going very well in my body”recognizes Émilie Dequenne in front of the cameras of the first channel show.
If the actress is ready to fight against the tumor, she knows that her fight will be difficult. “We only talk about remission. We will never talk about healing”explains the 43-year-old woman. “Deep down I know I won't live as long as I expected.”she specifies.
The actress confided that she had to cancel or postpone several projects to continue her treatment which causes fatigue, dizziness and difficulty concentrating. Despite her problems, she decided to speak openly about her illness to raise awareness among the general public. “It does me a lot of good”confides Émilie. “It's already so heavy and difficult to live with, we feel very alone, I'm very surrounded, but in suffering there is a form of extreme solitude. I feel deep down that I need some talk so I talk about it. It's my little medicine.“, she adds.
