Actress Emilie Dequenne confided on TF1, Sunday December 1, that she was fighting increasingly aggressive cancer. “It turns out that, unfortunately, things are not progressing well. (…) Here I am again going for the chemo that I had a little over a year ago”she declared during an interview on the show “Sept à quatre”. The 43-year-old Belgian revealed in October 2023 that she had a rare cancer, diagnosed two months earlier, and which has since kept her away from film sets.
“Deep down, I know very well that I will not live as long as expected. (…) I am only 43 years old. I have always dreamed of living until at least 80 years old and I fall asleep permanently in my sleep. That's what I'm asking for.” she said. “I trust medicine. (…) I hope that research for my cancer will continue to advance.”
His cancer is an adrenocorticoma, a malignant tumor of the adrenal gland, for which the prognosis is all the more bleak as the tumor is large. Emilie Dequenne revealed herself to the general public from her first role in Rosettaby the Dardenne brothers, which won her the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1999.
