“I will personally commit to ensuring that gender theory does not find its place in our schools”, any more than “activism”, continued the minister who also asked for “very strict supervision of all those involved who will have to bring these subjects to our establishments.
Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Education, responsible for Academic Success and Vocational Education, Alexandre Portier was previously a Les Républicains deputy for the 9th Rhône constituency since June 22, 2022.
Having grown up in Beaujolais, Alexandre Portier, 34, is as passionate about series and video games as he is about politics. After obtaining his baccalaureate at the private Notre-Dame de Mongré high school, he headed towards a degree in philosophy in 2011 at the Catholic Institute of Paris.

Three years later, he graduated from the École Normale Supérieure and then from Sciences Po in 2015.
In parallel with his studies, he became an advisor in the office of the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. In 2017, he became deputy mayor of Villefranche-sur-Saône and was elected vice-president of the Villefranche-Beaujolais Saône agglomeration community.
Alexandre Portier is appointed Minister Delegate in charge of Academic Success and Vocational Education in 2024.
