Louhans. Without heating following a fire, Corinne is looking for accommodation for herself and her daughter

Corinne Ridet lives in Louhans with Emma, her 10-year-old daughter, the youngest of five children. On the morning of Wednesday, November 27, while they were both at home, their dog knocked a chair onto one of the two kerosene stoves used to heat the home.

Oil heating because the electric doesn’t work

“I managed to put out the fire before the firefighters arrived. A few years ago one of my children had a serious fire-related accident at home. So I know the first steps to take,” declares Corinne Ridet. The firefighters quickly arrived and proceeded to secure and ventilate the premises. They also explain to him that this type of heating is not recommended today and is very dangerous. “I knew about it but since we came back to live in this house, the electric heating hasn’t worked. All of the radiators were broken by my previous tenants and the work cannot be carried out until next year. I told myself that the kerosene stove could be a solution, but I’m going to stop, it was a bad idea,” continues the mother.

10 degrees in the house…

As a result, it’s only 10 degrees in the house… “It’s especially when you get out of the shower that it’s very cold,” confesses little Emma. “My insurance guarantees me five nights in a hotel but no more. I am therefore looking for an apartment to rent for a few weeks or months while work is done on the heating system. It will be cheaper for me to pay a rental than to buy small electric heaters to warm a 120 m2 house,” says Corinne, now on disability and awaiting a hand operation.

“If it was just me I could sleep in my car. But there is my daughter and I want to find her a place with heating. I took the steps in order and here I am without a solution in Bresse since my other children no longer live here. I’m throwing a bottle into the sea, I hope it works. »
