Paul Pogba's brother and five of his long-time friends appear on Tuesday November 26 for attempted extortion and criminal conspiracy. They are suspected of having tried to extort several million euros from the player in 2022.
In 2018, after winning the World Cup, Paul Pogba became the most expensive player in the world, after transferring to Manchester United in 2016 for 110 million euros. A salary of 16 million per year which then attracts envy.
Passing through his childhood neighborhood of Roissy-en-Brie (Seine-et-Marne) in 2022, the football star found a friend who forced him to go to an apartment in Montévrain, around twenty kilometers away. “He was angry, very angry. He said, 'You have to come here, it's very important'. It wasn't a request, it was an order.”remembered the player afterwards.
Paul Pogba then found himself facing five long-time friends, joined by two hooded men. The two unknown men, armed with assault rifles, have not yet been identified. Their request: 13 million euros paid by Paul Pogba, including 3 immediately. The star will pay them 100,000 euros, far from the requested amounts. His brother, Mathias Pogba, will then get involved.
