For several months, the withdrawal of the zero-interest loan, which made it possible to finance construction work on individual houses, has weighed down the business of real estate developers. His return in February could change everything.
Real estate developer, Nathalie Marx builds individual houses near Lille, in Montigny-en-Gohelle, in Pas-de-Calais. But since last January, no more houses have been built. “It’s as if there had been a stop, a stop”she laments. An activity stopped completely, because in January 2024, the government excluded individual houses from the zero-rate loan.
Without this loan, the interest of which is covered by the State, most clients are unable to finance their project. “These are all families who had the same files the year before, and had no problem”underlines Nathalie Marx. However, the announcement of the return of the zero-rate loan for individual homes next February could change everything.
