The treatment of León's waters becomes a benchmark within the European Union. Since this year, the Porma Drinking Water Treatment Station (Etap) managed by Aguas de León has a turbine to generate electrical energy in its facilities. Financed by the European Union, the new turbine has an investment of one million euros and thanks to it, León becomes a “reference in the EU for energy self-sufficiency and circular economy.”

These are some of the conclusions that were presented this Tuesday, November 26, within the framework of the launch of the 'Life Nexus: promoting the sustainability of the urban water cycle through mini-hydraulic generation' conference that has been developed at the facilities. of Aguas de León and where the turbine has been visited.
