The average Social Security pension in Castilla y León reached 1,260.63 euros this November, which represents an increase of 5.41% compared to the same month of the previous year. This growth is slightly above the increase recorded at the national level, which was 5.26%. However, differences between provinces are notable, with some such as Valladolid and Segovia experiencing higher increases than the regional average.

In Zamora, the average pension is 1,077.37 euros, which shows a very small increase of 0.02% compared to the same month in 2023. This slight growth contrasts with that of other provinces where the increases are more significant. Despite this increase, the number of pensioners continues to grow, reaching 47,765 in total.

Retirement pensions continue to be the most numerous, both in Zamora and in the rest of Castilla y León. In the province, 35,447 people receive this benefit, with an average amount of 1,160.82 euros per month. Although this figure is lower than the Community average, which stands at 1,442.93 euros, it still represents the majority of income for Zamorano pensioners.

Regarding pensions with minimum supplements, Zamora registers 17,452 pensions, which represents approximately 37% of the total. This percentage is similar to that of other provinces, but León and Salamanca are the ones with the highest number of pensions with a supplement. These pensions have an average value of 896.02 euros per month in Zamora.

Finally, early retirements have decreased considerably throughout the Community. In Zamora, as in other provinces, 70.9% of new retirements correspond to retirements at the ordinary age. In addition, the delayed retirement modality has gained importance, with 9.4% of registrations in 2024, which demonstrates a change in the ways to access the pension.
