The average pension stood in Castilla y León, as of November 1, at 1,260.63 euros, an amount practically identical to the average for Spain as a whole, which reached 1,260.93 euros, after a regional increase of 5.41 percent compared to the same period a year ago, an increase that at the national level was 5.26 percent, according to data made public this Tuesday by the National Social Security Institute (INSS) of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations and collected by Ical.

The number of pensions in the community increased by 1.01 percent year-on-year, to 628,831. Of the total, 65.09 percent (409,320) corresponds to retirement, with an average pension that amounts to 1,442.93 euros. For permanent disability there are 47,770 pensions (1,160.82 euros); for widowhood, 148,885 (896.02 euros); for orphanhood, 18,955 (542.21 euros); and in favor of family members, 3,901 (761.95 euros).

By province, the highest average pension is recorded in Valladolid, with 1,383.91 euros; followed by Burgos, with 1,355.62 euros. They are followed by Palencia (1,292.26 euros); León (1,257.87 euros); Soria (1,215.08 euros) and Segovia (1,201.64 euros). Salamanca (1,174.61 euros), Ávila (1,108.45 euros) and Zamora (1,077.37 euros) close.

Regarding the number of pensions, León is in the lead, with 140,535, ahead of Valladolid (122,393). They are followed by Burgos (93,901), Salamanca (82,463), as well as Zamora (47,765), Palencia (43,904), Ávila (39,631), Segovia (35,447) and Soria (22,792).

The differences between autonomous communities

By community, the highest average pension is found in the Basque Country (1,558.89 euros), followed by Asturias (1,470.2 euros) and Madrid (1,465.52 euros). As of November 1, Social Security paid more than 10.3 million pensions to 9.3 million people on the November payroll, which amounted to 12,941 million euros. Along with the payroll, this month the extraordinary pay is also paid, for an amount of 12,624.2 million euros.

Three quarters of the contributory pension payroll correspond to retirement pensions, as is usual. Specifically, these pensions represent 73.1% of the payroll, 9,467.1 million euros. 2,114.9 million euros have been allocated to widow's pensions, while the payroll for permanent disability benefits amounts to 1,153.7 million; that of orphans, to 170.8 million euros and that of benefits in favor of family members, to 34.4 million.
