His life ended during the night from Saturday to Sunday in the small town of Ploubezre, south of Lannion (Côtes-d'Armor). Aged 15, this teenager was driving a motorcycle belonging to his family when he was the victim of a violent road accident. According to the first elements of the investigation, he was being pursued by the gendarmerie and was trying to flee when he hit the church.

According to the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc, the young driver “turned around near the church, without being aware of the bend, continued straight on and ended up hitting a wall”. The teenager lived in the town and had borrowed the 600 cc motorcycle from his family.

The “partly hidden” plate

Before the accident, he had been spotted by the gendarmerie, in particular because his license plate was “partially hidden”, reports Nicolas Heitz, who specifies that “despite the sound and light warnings being activated”, the young motorcyclist had accelerated then braked several times “without stopping at the injunctions thus formulated”.

An investigation was opened to try to understand the circumstances of the accident. The minor's body will be subject to an autopsy. The General Inspectorate of the National Gendarmerie (IGPN) and the research section were jointly responsible for the investigation. “As it stands, no trace of impact was observed between the gendarmerie vehicle and the motorcycle,” specifies the prosecutor.
