A 15-year-old high school student stabbed in the middle of class, another student arrested

A 15-year-old student was injured by scissors this Monday morning in the middle of class by one of his classmates at the Edgar-Quinet high school in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain). Another high school student, an unaccompanied minor aged 16, was arrested and placed in police custody, indicates the Bourg-en-Bresse prosecutor's office, confirming information
of Progress.

The teenager received scissor blows to the face and arm according to the first elements of the investigation, said the prosecution. “The suspect is an unaccompanied minor, aged 16, placed in a foster home, who was educated in the same establishment as the victim”specifies the same source.
“The investigation will have to determine the motive for the facts as well as the personality of the author”.

The victim was transported to hospital and his life prognosis is not in jeopardy. The teacher would have tried to intervene at the time of the events, specifies the regional daily. “The student responsible for the attack was arrested by the police and taken into custody. A judicial investigation is underway”indicated the Ain prefecture. “The students in the class receive specific support within the establishment”.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Bourg-en-Bresse police station. The school remained open normally this Monday.
