The young LOSC prodigy, Ayyoub Bouaddi, is at the heart of a real soap opera. His impressive performances since the start of the season have attracted the attention of all of Europe, but also that of two national federations.
At only 17 years old, the Lille midfielder already displays a maturity worthy of the greatest. His vision of the game, his refined technique and his tactical intelligence amazed observers. His performances against prestigious opponents, such as Real Madrid, have only confirmed his immense potential.
Naturally, these performances did not escape the national coaches, notably Didier Deschamps for France and Hoalid Regragui for Morocco. Ayyoub Bouaddi has already worn the France Espoirs team jersey, but the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has recently stepped up its efforts. Indeed, the young player, who has Moroccan origins, is being courted to join the Atlas Lions.
According to the Moroccan daily Opinion, Morocco has already convinced Bouaddi. The latter would have initiated the necessary administrative procedures (national card and Moroccan passport) to officially represent Morocco. The kingdom seems to have taken a head start in this matter, despite the threat from the France team.
It must be recognized that Morocco has often succeeded in attracting promising dual nationals, arousing the frustration of the training nations. Only a few players, like Lamine Yamal, have escaped the Lions’ den in recent years.
If Bouaddi were to choose Morocco, it would be a real masterstroke for the FRMF. The kingdom continues to assert its influence among talents from the diaspora, thus consolidating its strategy of strengthening the national team with elite players.
