Monday, November 25, a high school student received several cuts from scissors in an establishment in Bourg-en-Bresse, without his vital prognosis being compromised. As Le Parisien reveals, the attacker, who is one of his classmates, was taken into police custody.
The Edgar Quinet high school, in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain), was almost the scene of a tragedy. Monday, November 25, shortly before 10:00 a.m., an argument broke out in a second-grade class, involving two students. According to information from Parisianconfirmed by the rectorate, one of the two teenagers struck his friend several times with scissors. The victim, aged 15, suffered injuries to his arm and face and had to be hospitalized immediately. Fortunately, his vital prognosis is not in jeopardy, revealed prosecutor Karine Malara.
As reported by our colleagues, the attacker was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder. “The investigation will have to determine the motive for the facts as well as the personality of the perpetrator of the attack,” said Karine Malara, specifying that the attacker was a young man aged 16 living in a shelter. Since this attack, the establishment has put in place specific support intended for students in the class concerned. At the same time, the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Fabrice Pannekoucke (LR), and the rector of the academy, are expected to visit the site during the day.
This other drama avoided in a high school
A few weeks ago, another disaster was narrowly avoided in an establishment in France. On September 17, a 16-year-old teenager jumped out of the window from the first floor of Les Palmiers high school, in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), where he is studying in the second year of CAP. As a source explained to Le Figaro Nice, the student had been summoned by the high school director to discuss “a story of timetable” before throwing himself out of the window. “This child is not rowdy or known for anything at school. Nor is he a victim of bullying.”added the source. Here again, the teenager's vital prognosis was not in jeopardy.
