Warmer weather to start holiday week

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Tonight we will see mostly clear skies across the area. High pressure has shifted off the Florida coast. That will direct winds more out of the south. That means a little warmer tonight across the region. Most areas will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s across the Pee Dee and border belt. Along the coast we will see low temperatures drop into the mid to upper 40s.

Monday will bring back the 70s to the area. Most locations top out between 70-72 degrees. Clouds will start to increase late Monday evening ahead of a cold front that will push through the area on Tuesday.

A cold front will move through the area Tuesday. This will be a relatively dry front. A few locations across the area could see a few isolated showers. Rain chances are around 20%. As we head into Wednesday, temperatures will cool into the mid to upper 60s. We start the day with mostly sunny skies, but as we get into the afternoon and evening hours clouds will begin to increase across the area.

Thanksgiving Day will bring the chance of seeing some scattered showers across the area. Showers and even a few thunderstorms will be possible through the day into the evening hours. We have the ingredients to see a few stronger storms as the front pushes through the area. We will have to watch this mid range forecast to unfold to get a little more specific on what could transpire across the region.

As we head into Black Friday and the weekend, the front will be well off the coast. The coldest air of the season will be moving into the area. Day time highs Friday through Sunday will not make it out of the 50s across the Pee Dee, border belt and the coast. Overnight lows will be around and below freezing. So expect to see a widespread freeze by the end of the week.
