If in fact there is very little risk of paying without doing so on purpose (the bank card must be stuck for at least three seconds on the payment terminals), it is possible to pay “too much” without it. do it on purpose. “Since it is possible to travel in groups by paying with the same bank card, you must make sure to only stick it once at the payment terminal which manages the opening of the gate if you are traveling alone“, indicate our colleagues fromNews Lyon.
For security reasons, the gates only open after payment if the space in front of them is sufficiently clear. In the event that the user goes too quickly and approaches the doors, the latter may not open even though the payment is indicated as validated: instead of paying again, simply take a step back to unlock access to the station, indicates Sytral.
How to travel with several people?
To avoid being fooled, simply watch for the notice on the payment terminal when you pass by. By swiping your bank card a second time on the terminal, the words “Traveler 2 added” appear, which means that a new user can pass. And that the bank card was charged a second time.
And so on up to a maximum of five times, enough to lose up to 10 euros instead of 2 euros, the price of the single ticket. Be careful if you travel alone.
