“Today I don’t want to suffer”: Adriano Panatta he said it during the commentary of the final of Davis Cup in Malaga among the blue Matteo Berrettini and the Dutch Van de Zandschulp. And luckily the Italian satisfied him, beating his opponent in two sets (6-4, 6-2). The words of the commentator and former tennis player went viral on the X platform, where Panatta’s commentary is highly appreciated. “Panatta didn’t want to suffer and in fact he didn’t suffer,” wrote one user.
Someone else, however, spoke of the moment in which the commentator took it out on the DJ console present at the sporting event. “Panatta has finished cheering Berrettini and is now busy cheering for the DJ console to explode: TIRELLESS”, pointed out a user. Another instead: “Nothing, Panatta ce l’ha col deejay“. And again: “Pattatta’s fight against the DJ’s console is killing me.”
However, Berrettini was very emotional after the match: “What does it mean to play wearing blue? It means a child’s dream who started playing tennis, also for this reason, who dreamed of becoming professional also for this reason. And so in the end everything comes easier, coming in here and listening to the anthem, getting excited, giving me shivers, I work for this. The sacrifices, if we want to call them that, are made to live these moments here and therefore I try to enjoy them fully and then victory or defeat is relative in the sense that it is much more beautiful to live it to the full.”
