WTT Finals: the Lebrun brothers make history a little more by becoming world number one in table tennis

The Lebrun brothers were in the doubles final at the WTT Finals in Fukuoka (Japan), this Saturday, November 23. Thanks to their victory against Japan, the French pair become world No.1.

And there you have it. The Lebruns are on the top of the world. By winning the doubles competition at the WTT Finals in Fukuoka (Japan), the brothers became world No. 1. Enough to conclude a pretty crazy year 2024 for them and for the French ping, after the two bronze medals at the Olympic Games, two European titles and a victory in WTT Champions.

This Saturday, the French pair, made up of the two phenomena Alexis and Félix, were opposed to the Japanese Shunsuke Togami and Hiroto Shinozuka (10th in the world). She won in five sets after a standoff lasting almost an hour: 12-14, 14-12, 11-6, 7-11, 11-4.

Recital in the fifth set

The first two sets were of a very high level. Every point was contested. The first round was won by the Japanese pair after a long standoff. The second by the residents, with the same score.

In the third round, the Tricolores showed their muscles. Before the dynamic reverses in the fourth. The fifth? A recital of blondes with glasses. Strong.
