After another breakdown, metro line B was able to restart

EDIT OF 11/22/2024 at 1:50 p.m.: Line B was able to restart normally at 1:45 p.m. after an hour and a half of service interruption. According to Keolis, it was a roller defect which led to the immobilization of a train.

Line B broke down again. Fortunately, it only lasted an hour and a half. This Friday, the Star network announced that its second metro line was at a standstill. The reason: a (recurring) roller problem on a train, which causes the line to automatically stop. After less than an hour of downtime, Keolis deployed its relay bus line on a portion between Saint-Germain and Saint-Jacques Gaîté. Time for the technicians to evacuate the train that was causing the problem and restart the whole thing.

The relay bus line had already been deployed during the long absences of its line B. If the metro was able to leave a little before 2 p.m., its operators did not escape a wave of criticism from users tired of see the line stop regularly.

Serial adventures

Because this is unfortunately not the first time that the automatic metro inaugurated in 2022 has had problems. It was almost a year ago to the day that the line was the victim of an accidental fire. Inaugurated a year earlier with multiple delays, the equipment was immobilized for more than a month at the end of 2023, before returning to service for a few days.

However, on January 3, line B was stopped again for an indefinite period. A breakdown which had immobilized the trains for almost six months.
